Students' medical notes are included in the patient file

Еlectronic medical notes, issued to students are now visible in the electronic patient record, and for those under 18 they are accessible through the parent's patient record. They are part of the new "Medical notes" module and are visible both on my.his.bg and in the mobile application eZdrave. To get access to Medical Notes module in eZdrave, users must install version 3.2.0 of the app, which is available on the App Store and Google Play.

From September 2023, medical notes that doctors issue to students are in an electronic version, as a result of the integration between the central systems in healthcare and education. This includes not only the notes that are issued in case of an established illness and serve to excuse absences, but also the notes of contact with an infectious disease, past infectious disease and the certificate of a clinically healthy patient. All notes issued since September 2023 are visible in the new module.

From mid-September by now, 1,260 million electronic absence notes to students have been issued through the National Health Information System (NHIS). On average, doctors and other medical personnel issue 20,000 medical notes per day, the most being issued in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. The highest number of generated electronic medical notes was recorded on December 18, 2023 – 30,754.

The “Medical notes” module is about to be upgraded, adding medical certificates for marriage, getting a driver's license and starting a job. The addition and exchange of these electronic documents will be realized through horizontal integration of national systems, which aims to reduce the administrative burden for citizens, as well as to optimize and accelerate the processes. All these certificates will also be available in the electronic records of every single patient.
