Number of active eZdrave users has tripled over the past year

Number of active users of eZdrave mobile application has increased more than threefold in less than a year. This is what Milla Filipova, Product Manager at Information Services, said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio. Nearly 280,000 people have taken advantage of the opportunity to access their complete medical information through the app - medical examinations, referrals, prescriptions, vaccinations, hospitalizations, blood donations, laboratory results, and more.
“Activation of the application can be done quickly and easily with a qualified or cloud electronic signature, or on-site at an office of Information Services, Regional Health Inspectorates (RHI), or Regional Health Insurance Funds (RHIF),” said Filipova. According to her, mobile teams from the company are currently visiting offices of public- and private-sector institutions to assist employees and clients in activating the application. Any organization wishing to activate eZdrave for its staff or customers may send an email to [email protected], and representatives from Information Services will get in touch for further details and organization of the activation.
“Every medical examination - regardless of its funding source - must be submitted to National Health Information System (NHIS) and saved in patient’s health record” Filipova stated. She explained that this is a legal obligation for every healthcare professional and medical facility, whether the patient visits a private practice, state hospital, laboratory, or clinic. “Patients should monitor the completeness and accuracy of their health data and insist that it be submitted to NHIS, as this leads to a more complete health picture and more effective diagnostics,” she added.
The eZdrave application is planned to be upgraded with new functionalities, including a Dental Care module, access for medical professionals to patient records, and more. A Patient Summary feature will also be developed, allowing most important information about the patient to be viewed on a single screen. The Long-Term Care module will be expanded to include chronic diseases.
The Statistical Data section of NHIS website already contains more than 100 reports based on information submitted by healthcare professionals to the system. The reports are organized into 11 categories, available in two languages, and updated daily.
